Delaying the PlayStation 5 exclusive was a joint decision between Housemarque and Sony Interactive Entertainment so the developers could polish the game further and deliver what fans expect.
Housemarque originally planned a March 19 Returnal release date, and the news follows a recent deep dive into the game’s combat and roguelike mechanics.
Returnal follows Selene, a space explorer trapped in a seemingly endless cycle of death and rebirth. The only way out is pushing through Atropos again and again, uncovering the planet’s mysteries and fending off its hordes of monstrous creatures. We can’t wait to play it, so hopefully there won’t be any more delays.
