The craftsman was detained in the wake of being allowed a two-year jail term on July 14 for illicitly shipping individuals abroad while they were going about as individuals from his band.
Police had enlisted a body of evidence against the vocalist, his brother Shamsher Singh – – who died in October 2017 – – and two others, after it was claimed that the charged took cash from individuals to the tune of Rs 1 crore on the guise of taking them abroad.
Complainant, Bakhshish Singh, asserted that the arrangement never developed and the charged neglected to return the cash.
The case was enlisted in 2003 in Patiala. Daler Mehndi was therefore captured however delivered on bail following a couple of days.
